COMMUNITY CELEBRATION and presenting the Skid Row Action Plan Map!

We will be celebrating the release of the new SRAP Community Mapping Project highlighting key locations, people, history, and resources of importance to the Skid Row community! This project is the culmination of meaningful community collaboration with SRAP partners and multiple Skid Row residents led by Alisa Osunfunke Orduna of Florence Aliese Advancement Network in collaboration with DHS Housing for Health. The result is a beautiful map produced by SALT Landscape Architects. This map will be printed and distributed to the community so it can be widely used and appreciated.

LAPD Mission

Founded in 1985 by director-performer-activist John Malpede, Los Angeles Poverty Department (LAPD) is a non-profit arts organization, the first performance group in the nation made up principally of homeless people, and the first arts program of any kind for homeless people in Los Angeles. LAPD creates performances and multidisciplinary artworks that connect the experience of people living in poverty to the social forces that shape their lives and communities. LAPD’s works express the realities, hopes, dreams and rights of people who live and work in L.A.’s Skid Row.
