Starting today, March 1, Basset Park in Service Planning Area 3 (San Gabriel Valley) will operate nightly as a Winter Shelter Program site till March 31, 2019.  Bassett Park is located at 510 Vineland Avenue, La Puente, CA 91746. The Winter Shelter Program will be located inside the park gymnasium.  Note: Walk-ins are allowed. 24-hour Activation: The following Winter Shelter Program sites will open tonight at 5 p.m. and will remain open until Sunday, March 3 until 7 a.m. Please reference the Winter Shelter Program flyer for shelter hours that may differ.

Winter shelters provide shelter, warmth, food, and comfort to homeless individuals during the cold and wet weather season. In addition to temporary emergency shelter, each program location provides access to supportive services and housing assistance. The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority coordinates the Winter Shelter Program in partnership with the California National Guard, the county of Los Angeles, and the city of Los Angeles.
