Los Angeles Poverty Department Archive – a brief collection to 2012

This collection of photos and texts, taken from the LAPD archive gives an overview of the works LAPD has created with the Skid Row community since their founding in 1985. Tracee Johnson created this book for LAPD’s bookshelf at the Last Bookstore in Downtown Los Angeles The Indie Shelves Initiative which seeks to draw attention to the high-caliber work being produced by Los Angeles’ publishers and writers by devoting considerable shelf space solely to independent books.  LAPD created an Indie bookshelf about recovery and LAPD’s work on Skid Row as part of our Biggest Recovery Community Anywhere project.
