On April 30, 2020, zAmya Theater Project of Minneapolis and Los Angeles Poverty Department (LAPD) joined forces to create a virtual cross-country open mic night for artists! If you have something to say, or maybe just a general need to express yourself, come join us!
LAPD
Founded in 1985, and based in Los Angeles, CA, LAPD was the first performance group in the nation made up principally of homeless people, and the first arts program of any kind for homeless people in Los Angeles.
zAmya Theater Project
Founded in 2004 and based in Minneapolis, zAmya uses theater performance and creative collaboration workshops to build understanding and make connections between citizens who have experienced homelessness and those who have not.
